2nd Annual Grow Your Own Food Event
On Saturday, February 27th the 2nd Annual Grow Your Own Food Event will be happening at Tuolumne County Ambulance & Fire Administration building. Anyone interested in sharing extra seeds, gardening books and magazines, or just coming to pick up some seeds and learn how to start a garden is welcome. The event is co-sponsored by the Foothill Collaborative for Sustainability (FoCuS) and Tuolumne County Master Gardeners.
Local farmers make accessible open pollinated, locally adapted and heirloom varieties of seeds. Come hear local experts on starting seeds, saving seeds, planning a garden, soil preparation, companion planting and crop rotation, permaculture, worms, growing fruit trees, and raising your own chickens.
Learn how you can put food on the table for your family. It's healthier, tastes better, costs a fraction of purchased produce, and increases your ability to be self-reliant.
